Earlier this week, the Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner published a report focusing on the financial service industry's approach to modern slavery issues. The report urges the industry to consider beyond the direct impact of modern slavery on their business operations (e.g. their catering and cleaning suppliers) and consider their power to be a force for change via investment decisions.

We're also aware that the UK government is intending to introduce stricter reporting requirements and fines in this space.

Whilst this will shine a light on the approach to modern slavery within financial services organisations and their supply chain and business, it underlines the fact that modern slavery issues, as well as broader human rights issues, are of increased importance and relevance for all organisations.
