In a recent move amid Vietnam's fourth wave of COVID-19, the Vietnam IP Office (VNIPO) has temporarily suspended receiving paper-based applications directly filed at their head office in Hanoi capital as from 27 May 2020. Applicants and IP agents are encouraged to do all the filing tasks through e-filing system, and via postal service.
There is currently no direct online payment featured on the e-filing system of the VNIPO, and payment of official fees has to be made by bank transfer to the State Treasury.
The VNIPO will return and deliver all original documents, such as certificates, office actions as well as other notices and decisions by postal services rather than onsite pick-up as usual.
In addition, the VNIPO has applied rotational working arrangements with a limited number of people in the head office. All other consultation services and IP HelpDesk are provided via phone calls and emails.
The representative offices of the VNIPO in Ho Chi Minh city and Da Nang are opened as normal.
Update: The above arrangements have been applicable to representative office of the VNIPO in Ho Chi Minh city as from 31 May 2021. The office in Da Nang are opened as normal.
